Aurangabad: The district administration has announced funds worth Rs 30 lakh to the Services Preparatory Institute (SPI) for buying computers.
In an official announcement, Aurangabad district collector Sunil Chavan said the fund-flow will be routed through the District Planning and Development Council (DPDC). The one-of-its-kind state-run institute in Maharashtra prepares cadets for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and other premier defence institutions.
SPI director Col (retired) Amit Dalvi said he had submitted a proposal to the district administration seeking funds for buying 30 computers. “The desired IT infrastructure is essential for students and staff. We hope that the money reaches us through DPDC soon,” he said.
The SPI is spread over 10 acre area and witnesses huge applications every year from different parts of the state.
